Shuttle Bus service from Edinburgh to Borders

Grab a spot on our shuttle bus between the two campuses

Did you know we have a Shuttle Bus service that takes you from the Edinburgh campus to the Borders campus?

Running twice a day (excluding local holidays), it only picks up at Edinburgh and stops at Borders, making it an easy journey for you to get back and forth.

The following times for the shuttle bus will take place from Tuesday 1st September until further notice.

Booking Arrangements

Please note: the bus service is for students and staff to Heriot-Watt only.

As the shuttle bus consists of 16 seats, it's necessary that you book a seat in advance! However, if the bus is fully booked, you will be put on a reserve list, and you can turn up at the departure point on the off chance somebody doesn't show up.

Priority is usually given to those on the reserve list, so again, it's important you book a spot rather than leave it to chance. 

Important things to note:

• If you're making a same-day booking, then please try to book before 2:30pm that day.
• If you turn up on the day of travel without booking, as long as you give your name to the driver and there is a free seat, you will be able to travel.
• Be aware that the bus can be full on occasion.

Priority Bookings

Students on a degree programme who attend classes on both campuses will be given priority. Secondary priority is given to any other student wanting to use the bus.

Luggage

We can only accept hand luggage or small backpacks as there isn't any luggage space available on the bus. If you are travelling with large suitcases or bags, then you'll need to use public transport.
