The wait is over! Accommodation applications for January arrivals are officially open!

Whether you're joining us as an Exchange, Go Global or Postgraduate student, your search for a home on campus starts now.

Key information to know:

✅ Applications open now

✅ Undergraduate & Exchange Contract Length (22 weeks): Jan 9th - June 12th 2027

✅ Postgraduate Contract Length (32 weeks): Jan 9th - Aug 21st 2027

✅ Arrival and key collection runs from Jan 9th - Jan 23rd 2027

How to apply

1. Apply online 

To submit an application, go to our accommodation portal. You'll need to create an account using your student ID number, which starts with H00. Choose the accommodation you'd like and then submit! Once you've applied, you'll receive an email confirming the accommodation team has received your application. If you don't receive this, please email halls@hw.ac.uk for Edinburgh campus or bordershalls@hw.ac.uk for Scottish Borders campus. 

2. Accepting your contract

Before you go on to accept your contract, you must upload your guarantor form to the accommodation portal. Once you've done this, you can accept your offer! 

Please note: Your contract is not valid until you have accepted your offer online.

3. Pay your advance rent payment

You'll need to pay a 4-week advance rent payment within 48 hours of receiving and accepting your accommodation offer. You must accept your offer before making the advance rent payment. Log in to the accommodation portal to pay.

If you don't pay your advance rent payment within 48 hours of receiving your offer, then the offer will be invalid and may be cancelled.
