There are various places in the High Mill building to study. On the ground floor you will find the Learning Commons which has tables and chairs and computers along one wall. Next to this you’ll find the small campus library. There are also two meeting rooms which can be booked for group work and three seating booths. On the first floor there are studio spaces and a computer lab. On the second floor you will find the MacLab.

*You can use computer labs when there are no timetabled classes in those spaces.

Right by the bus stop, you'll find a cash machine for all those taxis and takeaways.

You'll find all catering options for breakfast and lunch in the Borders College Building (the white building next to the High Mill). There are two areas in the canteen. The first area (The Hub) serves hot food, sandwiches, salads and cold drinks. The second area (M) is the café which sells coffee/tea and pastries.

No problem! The cafe (M) is a bright and airy space ideal for catching up with friends over a coffee in between lectures. Make sure you get a loyalty stamp card so you get your 10th coffee free!

The Campus Shuttle Bus! Free to use and runs to and from the Edinburgh campus in the morning and late afternoon. Make sure you book to get priority. Details and the timetable can be found here.

The Student Union is located at the Edinburgh Campus but the team often organise events at the Borders Campus. Keep an eye on their website for the latest info.

The Student Union Advice Hub provides support on all aspects of student life, including financial advice, counselling and advocacy throughout academic, disciplinary and financial issues. There is also a university wellbeing officer based on campus who can be contacted at SBC.wellbeing@hw.ac.uk.
