You’ve got plenty of supermarket options nearby for all your food and shopping needs, whether you’re doing a big weekly shop or just grabbing a few bits between lectures.
ASDA
One of the closest and most convenient supermarkets whilst living at Edinburgh campus. It’s a large superstore with groceries, clothing, homeware, all at student-friendly prices.
Transport: Get the No 34 bus, which drops you outside the supermarket.
Tesco
This Tesco superstore has pretty much everything you need — including clothes, electronics, and a cafe. A good option for doing a full weekly shop or picking up extras.
Transport: Get the No 25 bus and walk for 10 minutes.
Aldi
Perfect for stretching your budget. Aldi is known for its low prices and decent quality, especially when it comes to essentials, snacks, and frozen food.
Transport: Get the No 25 bus and walk for 8 minutes.
Lidl
Just down the road from Aldi, Lidl is another affordable favourite with fresh bakery items, fruit and veg, and international week promotions that bring in food from around the world.
Transport: Get the X40 bus and walk for 4 minutes.
Morrisons
Closer to Edinburgh city centre, but still a popular choice with students. Morrisons is a large, full-range supermarket with plenty of choice, good deals, and a cafe — ideal if you’re heading into town or fancy a change from the usual local shops.
Transport: Get the No 32 bus which drops you outside Morrisons.
All buses pick up from Hermiston Park & Ride located near campus.
