If you're moving on and require a reference for a new landlord or letting agency, the accommodation team has made the process simple.

📋 How to request

Complete the Accommodation Reference Request Form.

Please note: References can take up to five working days to process and will be sent to your Heriot-Watt email address only.

💳 Check your account

All student accounts will be checked before a reference is issued. Please ensure that all accommodation payments are up to date before submitting your request.

📄 Important information

• We recommend saving a copy of your reference for future use, as we are unable to reissue it.
• GDRP compliance: We cannot send references directly to third parties (e.g., letting agents or landlords). Once you receive your reference, you are free to share it yourself.
